ICF has formed strategic alliances with the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and InterfaceFLOR based in the UK in order to creatively leverage resources and create market opportunities to achieve sustainable social change.
InterfaceFLOR
InterfaceFLOR specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of carpet tiles for both commercial and residential purposes. The company has an innovative approach in combining sustainability, social integrity, quality and equality in developing unique flooring products.
The company strives to eliminate waste and harmful emissions, maximize use of renewable energy, recycle waste materials and reuse products and finally create new models for business by pioneering innovative sustainable commerce opportunities.
The company set up the FairWorks concept in 2004. The focus is on using locally available natural and recycled materials that combine traditional handicraft skills, which will increase earning opportunities for local communities. They have been working together since 2005, to produce natural fibre floor tiles.
DCH: Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts)
The Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) has been committed to development schemes aimed at sustainable development for artisans practicing the craft of traditional handicrafts through different implementing partners. The scheme aims to empower artisans providing financial assistance for a period of five years, covering social, technological, marketing and financial interventions depending on the need. Industree has been a longstanding partner since 2002.
Industree executed the Ambedkar Hastashilp Vikas Yojana scheme, wherein it mobilized 7000 rural artisans from six states in India to promote natural fibre skills within them.
IndusTree organises eye camps & also provides artisans life & health insurance in association with the office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).
