Pachchai - Exhibitions

Industree Craft Foundation launched a new brand in craft marketing, focusing on eco friendly and sustainable methods of livelihood, which truly symbolize the green movement. Called PACHCHAI, which translates as green in Tamil, and aimed at being branded exhibitions, which will show annually in all the metros, the first in the series, was launched in Bangalore from the 24th to 30th Nov. by Rajotsava award winner and Chairperson of Karnataka Crafts Council, Mrs Vimala Rangachar.

Bringing together some of the most vibrant craft communities across India, Industree Crafts Foundation, Bangalore, showcases an infusion of life and colour in self sustainable and eco friendly craft. The show  titled ‘PACHCHAI’ green craft Futures, takes inspiration from the green movement. The products being showcased are not only green in nature, using natural dyes and  natural materials,  but the entire system of self sustainable production symbolizes  the very spirit of  the movement. Planned as an annual event in major Indian cities, this new identity focuses on becoming an eco friendly platform for interaction between consumers and producers.

Industree Crafts Foundation is backed by a team of designers, some from NID, others from the Indian Institute of Craft and Design.  The very idea of incorporating the freshness of new ideas, colours and finishes with the wonderful talents of rural hands, electrifies the human spirit, be it that of the consumer, producer or all the facilitators in between.The crucial link in our effort for long term sustainability is to introduce well designed contemporary products, artisans and organizations to the domestic urban as well as export markets.  

Through Pachchai exhibition  of home products, Indus Tree widening the marketing base for small production groups, within India, the idea behind the brand being, self-sustainability, eco and producer friendly. The Pachchai exhibition will bring together traditional crafts from different parts of the country
