Consultancy / Design Projects Following are pictures of ICF designers working with artisans at Design Development Workshops at various NGOs.
1. Baseline Survey - Ambedkar Hastashilp Vikas Yojana (June 2002 - August 2002) Client: Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
The Foundation has received a Project from the Office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) under the Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India to develop and train 7000 women directly in Natural Fibre Crafts from 12 NGOs in 6 states of India. This project is called Ambedkar Hastashilp Vikas Yojana(AHVY) and is part of the cluster development initiative of GOI. The Government envisages that in close co-operation with other local agencies such as NABARD, SIDBI, DRDA, common facility centers will be set up where DC (Handicrafts) will help with machinery supply. ICF is the centralised consultant providing marketable designs and skill training.

Design Development Workshop Venue:
Dakshina Chitra, Chennai Over 100 artisans from the 12 NGOs took part in this design workshop. Master craftsmen in various skills of natural fibres were provided training for a period of one week. This was funded by Indus Tree Crafts Foundation.

Kalamkaari Craft in Srikalahasti Client:
M/s. Kalasrusti, Srikalahasti ICF has conducted design development workshops with 30 artisans in the craft of kalamkaari. Contemporary products such as picture frames, lamp shades, bags, stoles and T-shirts are being designed and training in production of the same is being provided.

Wood carving Craft in Srikalahasti Client:
M/s. Kalasrusti, Srikalahasti ICF has conducted design development workshops with 30 artisans in the craft of woodcarving. Contemporary products such as mirror frames, lamp bases, stools and small shelves are being designed and training in production of the same is being provided.

Banana Craft, Anegundi, Koppal Dist- Client:
The Kishkinda Trust, Anegundi ICF has conducted design development workshop with 30 artisans in the craft of banana craft. Products such as bags, Mats, Files, Folders, Containers, Cushion, Bins, Boxes, Photo frames, Tray, Lamps, Diaries, Photo albums

Banjara Embroidery at Hyderabad, AP. Client:
Crafts Council of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad ICF has conducted design development workshop with 30 artisans in the craft of banjara craft. Products such as coasters, bags, photo frames developed.
7. Kashmir Willow Craft, Srinagar, J & K Client:
Jammu & Kashmir Handicrafts Corporation ICF has conducted design development workshop in willow craft of Kashmir, products such as Picnic basket with Wine bottle basket, Laundry baskets, Shopping basket made of willow, Square pouch bag made of willow, Round stool made of willow and grass, Square stool made of willow and grass were developed.

Jute Craft, Srikakulam, AP Client:
Youth Club of Bejjipuram, Srikakulam ICF has conducted design development workshop with 30 artisans in the craft of jute craft, natural fibres such as banana, grass were used with jute, products Rectangular Bag Big, Tissue Paper box, Rectangular Bag Small, Gift Box set of three box, Tapered Bag, Office set, Fabricated Bag- Tailor, Bins, Dhurries- Table mat, Mithai Box, Braided Hand stitched bag, Photo frame, Braided hand stitched Pouch, Box, Bowl Small, Hanging Chair, Bowl Medium, File Holder, Bowl Big were developed.
9. Screwpine Craft in Kerala, KarunagapallyClient: Kerala Rural Development Agency, Karunagapally ICF has conducted design development workshop with 30 artisans in the craft of screwpine, products such as Cushions, round Stools, Square stools, Bags, Trays, Bolster, Cushion covers, were developed.

Screwpine Craft in Kerala, Thalayolaparambu Client: Social Welfare Public Co-operation Centre ICF has conducted design development workshop with 30 artisans in the craft of screwpine, products such as Cushions, simple furniture, bags, coasters, table mats were developed.

Bamboo
Craft in North-eastern states Client: Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, New Delhi ICF has conducted workshops in north-eastern states in various natural fibres like bamboo, grass, etc. 10 collections with each twelve products, a total of 120 products were developed and displayed the Indian Handicrafts Gifts Fair (IHGF) 2004 October. Lot of orders were placed directly to the entrepreneurs by the buyers at the fair. The collection details is as follows
